Wilderness Trail to release 6-year wheated Family Estate bourbon
As distilleries around the state make plans to begin reopening to the public, Danville’s Wilderness Trail Distillery has a new release ready for its June 8 return to being open to the public.
The distillery will release a 6-year-old wheated bottled in bond bourbon that day. If the Wilderness Trail wheated single barrel BiB is any precursor, this new whiskey should be one worth grabbing. Previous releases from Wilderness Trail have been four-year bourbons.
“We always practice patience in aging our whiskeys. We’re used to waiting for those great flavors the years spent in the barrel produce. But it’s been hard to wait for the return of our visitors. It seems like years since we’ve had guests. We wanted to make the first day back extra special,” Shane Baker, Wilderness Trail’s, master distiller said in a news release.
100 bottles will be available for pre-sale and must be purchased online for curbside pickup; limit two per customer. These bottles will be sold in a Family Reserve mahogany box complete with two shot glasses. “Family Reserve” appears in gold lettering on the front of the box. The price for the 6-year bourbon set is $75.
